Aromatherapy Properties: A greenish-olive colored liquid with a rosy-sweet, minty scent, used widely in perfumery. It blends well with lavender, patchouli, clove, rose, neroli, sandalwood, jasmine, juniper, bergamot and other citrus oils.
Spiritual Uses: Calming but not sedating, Geranium rose is helpful for meditation work. It is traditionally associated with blessings, and is also quite good for working with angelic beings. Geranium rose is thought to strengthen the etheric body, and is often used for cleansing the aura.
Blends well with: Most essential oils, making Geranium rose oil ideal for use in perfumery. Mix it with Lavender, Sandalwood, and Jasmine for a relaxing, earthy, blend, or with Cedarwood, Rosemary, Bergamot or other citrus oils for a centering, focusing, and energizing mix.
History: Geranium rose originated in Africa and Asia and was introduced to Europe in the 17th century. It was used in ancient Egypt as a treatment for cancerous tumors. It is now widely cultivated worldwide, and used extensively in the perfume industry.
