Wild Dagga
<div> </div><div><span style=”font-weight: bold;”><strong><font style=”background-color: rgb(153, 204, 0);”>CRITICAL POINTS REGARDING WILD DAGGA VARIETIES:</font></strong></span></div><div><hr></div><div> </div><div align=”justify”><div align=”justify”>There is a VAST difference in the strength of Wild Dagga varieties, in both the leaves and especially the flowers. Our shop prides itself on not only having the best Wild Dagga found anywhere, but we also have varieties found at no other shop, even though others claim to have the same thing. One of those varieties is our Alpine Freeze Dried Klip Dagga, grown in scientifically-controlled conditions, and freeze dried on the farm just after it’s harvested, to keep its strength as fresh as the day it was harvested. We also carry TWO strains of Wild Dagga Flowers.</div><div align=”justify”><br></div><div align=”justify”>Both Lion’s Tail and Lion’s Ear (Klip Dagga) produce flowers. But the critical difference between the two are in the appearance of the flowers. For the milder variety (Lion’s Tail), the flowers simply sprout from the plant itself. But for the stronger variety called Lion’s Ear or Klip Dagga, the flowers sprout from prickly pods. And these pods only produce a FEW flowers per pod. See the below images for a reference:</div><div><br></div><br><img alt=”Leonotis leonurus flowers” src=”/images/category/medium/cat_leonotis-leonurus-flowers.jpg”></div><div align=”justify”> </div><div align=”justify”><strong>Leonotus lenourus flowers (above) – NO PODS!<br></strong><br><img alt=”Leonotis nepetifolia flowers” src=”/images/category/medium/cat_leonotis-nepetifolia-flowers.jpg”><br><br><strong>Leonotis nepetifolia flowers (above) – ONE BIG POD!</strong><br><br><div align=”justify”>Note that the <em>Leonotis nepetifolia</em> flowers sprout from a large pod. What other vendors offer as “Wild Dagga Flowers” are really the weaker strain of flowers as seen in the first image. They are the ones that sprout quite plentifully and directly from the plant.</div><div align=”justify”><br></div><div align=”justify” style=”text-align: justify;”><span style=”text-align: left;”>In fact, if you can find research on both of these plants (most vendors DON’T want to point out the difference because the cost difference is quite different as well), you will see that the Lion’s Ear produces a FAR SMOOTHER smoke than the Lion’s Tail. And this is exactly why we offer both, just as we offer multiple strains of products such as HBWR, Wormwood, and Calamus . . . to educate you, our treasured customer, so you can be confident with anything and everything you purchase from us.</span><span style=”text-align: left;”> If you go to </span><span style=”text-align: left;”><a href=”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonotis_nepetifolia”><strong>Wikipedia on Leonotis nepetifolia</strong></a></span><span style=”text-align: left;”>, you wil see this quote; “<em>L. nepetifolia</em> (klip dagga) is related to L. leonurus (wild dagga or lion’s tail.) The most noticeable difference between the two is the leaf shape. Leaves are *cordate* with serrated edges on L. nepetifolia, except the top pair which is lanceolate with serrated edges as pictured in taxonomy box. The leaves are all lanceolate with serrated edges on <em>L. leonurus.</em>”</span></div><div align=”justify”><br></div><div align=”justify”>The Klip Dagga is part of a growing line of products we carry called our <span><a href=”http://www.shamansgarden.com/c-71-private-reserve.aspx”><strong>”Private Reserve”</strong></a></span> products that are grown, with the greatest of care, on our own farmlands. Wild Dagga happens to be one of the plants that is particularly suited to the growing conditions our farmlands have.</div><div align=”justify”><br></div><div align=”justify”>There are countless stories and reports about Wild Dagga, but the one thing to remember when reading these wildly varying reports is this: one must ALWAYS take into consideration the source of the plant material. As always, we offer a wide range of Wild Dagga products, not only to give our customers an idea of the range of products available, but to allow them to make their own choices when it comes to Wild Dagga.</div><div align=”justify”> </div><div align=”justify” style=”text-align: justify;”><span style=”text-align: left;”>Also, this herbal product has a recorded history of use in South Africa, and that part of the world is still a vastly untapped place for exotic botanicals such as Wild Dagga. It’s easy to see why this plant is used as an ingredient in so many smoking blends, such as </span><span style=”text-align: left;”> </span><span style=”text-align: left;”><a href=”http://www.shamansgarden.com/p-35-chilllucid-herbal-smoking-blend.aspx”><strong>Chill Herbal Smoking Blend</strong></a></span><span style=”text-align: left;”> made by</span><span style=”text-align: left;”><a href=”http://www.sweetsmokeherbs.com”><strong> SweetSmoke Herbs</strong></a></span><span style=”text-align: left;”>. </span></div><div align=”justify”><br></div><div align=”justify”><strong>This product is not intended or sold for ingestion by humans or animals.
