Damiana (Turnera diffusa; synonym, T. aphrodisiaca) is a small green shrub found throughout Mexico and Central America. Damiana was for centuries consumed by the indigenous men and women of Mexico as an “aphrodisiac”.
Damiana is a popular Mexican aphrodisiac and not only consumed by men. Damiana has been used for centuries by Mexican women who thought that a cup of Damiana tea taken one or two hours before intercourse helped to immerse them in their passion.
Damiana contains seta-bitoserol which may have a direct stimulating effect on sexual organs*. Damiana is used by natives to Oaxaca Mexico for strengthening the nervous and hormonal systems. Some claim that taken as a tea it has a relaxing effect*.
To ensure optimum strength, our encapsulated Damiana contains only the tops and leaves harvested while the plant is in flower.
