Damiana (Turnera diffusa; synonym, T. aphrodisiaca) is a small green shrub native to the southwestern U.S. and northern Mexico and grows throughout Mexico and Central America.
Damiana has for centuries been consumed by the indigenous men and women of Mexico in the folk-belief that the plant serves as a gentle tonic for relaxation and the support of sexual performance.
Damiana contains caffeine and flavonoids.
