Aroma: Woody-earthy, slightly spicy, strong, fruity, warm, herbaceous and musky.
Aromatherapy properties: A yellow or amber-colored liquid with a dry,warm, earthy-woody odor. It blends well with costus, cassia, cedarwood, geranium, mimosa, citrus and spice oils.
Blends well with: Great with citrus and evergreen oils, as well as Frankincense, Lavender, Rosewood, Blue Cypress, and Geranium.
History: Carrot Seed oil is not distilled from the regular carrot plant, but from its ancestor. This ancient carrot, which probably hailed from Southwest Asia, was mostly grown for its leaves and seeds and not as a food plant. Carrot oil appearing on a cosmetics label could also mean on oily extract of the common carrot, or Tagetes oil, which is sometimes called “carrot oil” for no good reason.
