Aromatherapy Properties:  With its fresh, citrus smell, grapefruit oil is energizing and helps to elevate the spirits. A yellow or greenish mobile liquid with a fresh, sweet, citrusy aroma, it blends well with lemon, palmarosa, bergamot, neroli, rosemary, cypress, lavender, geranium, cardamom seed, and other spice oils.

Spiritual Uses: Grapefruit is said to spur action and encourage volition in the user. It may also aid in fostering empathetic connections with others. It imparts great energy unto the user, and is useful when one is seeking magickal protection, or is simply feeling spiritually drained. Grapefruit is also known for clearing psychological blockages, and helping the user toward achieving spiritual lightness.

History: The product of an 18th century hybrid of sweet oranges and pomelos (a fruit native to Barbados in the Caribbean), the Grapefruit does not have the long illustrious history of some of its other citrus counterparts. Its popularity grew swiftly, and it is now a huge commercial fruit produced across the U.S., as well as other parts of the world, including in China, South Africa, Syria, Turkey, India, Argentina, Cuba, and Israel.
